Exit Realty Agents in Lemars want to thank Opportunities Unlimited

LE MARS, Iowa (KTIV) -

REALTORS at Exit Realty Midwest in Lemars Iowa want to thank Opportunities Unlimited for educating the youth at our local school about helmet safety.  They donated helmets to the 2nd grade class at Gehlen Catholic after educating them on the importance of helmet safety.

Helmet safety was the name of the game at Gehlen Catholic Elementary this afternoon. Opportunities Unlimited traveled to Le Mars to speak to Mrs. Lehman's 2nd grade class about the importance of helmets. The kids were then given a free helmet at the end of the presentation. One student and a member of Opportunities Unlimited say this was a great way to get kids to be safer when riding bikes.

"It's a lot of fun and then they get a free helmet, and they get to talk to their friends about the helmet they received, and they talk about our organization and how that helps them. It's the best part of my day. It's a beautiful day and I get to spend it with young kids," said Megan Cross, the Program Director at Opportunities Unlimited

"So you don't hit your head and get a concussion or something," said Addison Logan, a 2nd grade student at Gehlan Catholic Elementary.

Students will be able to ride their bikes to school starting in 3rd grade with the help of their brand new helmets.
